Beware the Card Skimmer

Here's a video which perfectly illustrates the dangers of having your credit card information stolen with the aid of a skimmer. This one was shot in Vienna at a spot we visited on our recent European trip. Another friend of mine in Chiang Mai had his info stolen right here, so you don't have to go all the way to Vienna to have this done .

It's probably worth tugging a little on that cash machine card reader, but best to avoid those free standing ATM machines. Better to use one that is attached directly to the bank because those are likely to be inspected often. Also you will avoid the hassle of contesting unauthorized withdrawals and getting a new debit card.
