ATTENTION BILL! I DON'T KNOW WHO SENT SUCHART TO ME, BUT ALTHOUGH HE IS A DARLING AND I LOVE HIM DEARLY, HE HAS BEEN LESS AND LESS HELPFUL LATELY, I-DON'T-KNOWING ME AND NOT-POSSIBLE-ING ME TO DEATH! I WILL OF COURSE CONTINUE TO WORK WITH HIM, BUT I MUST-MUST-MUST HAVE AN ENGLISH SPEAKING TUTOR IN ADDITION---IMMEDIATELY!!! SUCHART AND JIM BROWN WERE A GREAT TEAM FOR ME, THEY GOT ALONG BEAUTIFULLY. IF ONLY JIM WERE STILL ALIVE!! (HE WAS APPARENTLY MURDERED BY HIS WIFE AND SON THROUGH NEGLECTING HIM WHEN HE WAS ILL---I THINK MAYBE THEY ARE PSEUDO-CHRISTIANS. I GOT THIS FROM LISTENING IN TO A KAFFEE-KLATCH THAT MEETS EVERY SUNDAY MORNING AT BAKE AND BITE; ANY FEEDBACK ON THIS ISSUE WILL BE APPRECIATED.) 

BUT THAT IS BESIDE THE POINT. I AM GOING ON A TWO-YEAR WALKABOUT THROUGH NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICA AND HAVE ONLY A MONTH'S (INTERMITTENT) TIME AT THE MOST TO GET SOME SEMBLANCE OF SKILL, BECAUSE I AM A DUMMY'S DUMMY AND I RELY VERY HEAVILY ON MY !@#%()#@%!!!! HIGH-TECH GADGETS! PLEASE, THERE MUST BE SOMEONE IN THE CLUB WHO IS WILLING TO COACH! SUCHART CHARGES ME 500 BAHT PER HOUR (HE IS ALSO MY MAN FRIDAY FOR ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING), BUT I KNOW THAT MAY BE TOO LITTLE FOR A FARANG; I WILL PAY WHATEVER IS REQUIRED.

I can't say as I remember you, but then again, I often don't remember what I had for lunch most days. As a practical matter I haven't run the Chiang Mai Geeks meetings for over a year now. I do continue to maintain this Forum, but that's about it. My priorities have changed quite a bit and currently I have a full plate. I am not in a position to provide the tutoring you have requested.

Indeed, Jim was an asset to the community and is missed, but he's been gone a bunch of years now. As for Suchart, we've recommended him in the past based on people who he has worked with. There are many references about him in our Resources section. We always ask people to provide feedback when we make a recommendation, but that doesn't always happen. Results and opinions vary.

There have been over 40 people who have read your post. Perhaps someone will be up to the task and respond here, though the time frame you give, May 1, is less than a week away. I should point our, however, that most people in the club are hobbyists, not tutors. They share their experience and expertise with others in the group on a voluntary basis, but are not interested in doing it for monetary purposes. There have been requests for some kind of Internet Basics Course or Computers 101, but that's a lot of work and you'd be hard pressed to find someone willing to make that kind of commitment. 

What you may want to do is post the areas where you need some help and perhaps someone will come forward to work with you. Other than that, I wish you well on our upcoming journey.
