The reason we password-protect our phones is simple: If it gets stolen, the thief can't access all our data. But there's a flipside: If your phone is lost, or you've been injured and someone is trying to call your family, there's no way to access your ICE (In Case of Emergency) info. Here's a DYI method of doing just that.
