There are a bunch of ways of taking screen shots on the Mac. One built-in method is to use Grab in the System Utilities folder. I had been using Skitch for many years until EverNote bought it and mucked it up. Now there's a worthy replacement to the original Skitch. Want to capture and annotate your screen? It's a snap! Get Monosnap from the MacAppStore or from this site.
