Apple's ARkit for iOS Empty Apple's ARkit for iOS

Tim Cook has lately been very effusive about Apple's development of AR. There have been numerous acquisitions of small companies and even rumors that apple was going to develop some sort of glasses. It wasn't until WWDC (World-Wide Developers Conference) in June that Apple demoed what it has been working on. That was impressive, but it was with the release of ARkit for developers that things really got exciting. Between now and the release of iOS 11 in September, developers will have an opportunity to create apps that will show what they can do with this product.

For starters here's what one guy has done. He managed to land a Falcon 6 rocket in his swimming pool. Quite a feat!

Apple's ARkit for iOS Empty Apple's AR Advantage

Post by bdahm Wed Jul 19, 2017 11:26 am

Apple last month launched what could soon end up being the largest augmented reality (AR) platform in the world, and its rivals may have a tough time answering in kind. Apple, it turns out, is probably the only company that could launch an AR platform with the kind of performance and broad consumer reach of its offering, ARKit. That’s because it controls so many parts of the software and hardware involved–just like Jobs envisioned.
