Flying Fingers Cause problems Using Trackpad on MacBooks
As a touch typist, my fingers sometimes get to flying all over the place, particularly my thumbs that tend to come into contact with the trackpad. This has often caused the curser to jump to unpredictable places causing text to get inserted in other parts of the document or email. I have been looking for a way to disable the trackpad when using a mouse, but I couldn't find anything in Mac OS X preferences under either the mouse of the trackpad options.
After some on-line searches I discovered it is indeed possible to turn the trackpad off, but that it is found in the Accessibility options. Here's the Apple Support Article, which describes just how to do it.
