Meeting Notes - 14 October 2014
At this meeting we decided by a small majority that we would not pay 500 B per hour above the food and drinks bills to continue to use the Airport Greenery venue.
The other decision we made is that next meeting will take place at The River Market, http://therivermarket.com/ a new restaurant complex located near the iron bridge on the western side of the Ping River. The purpose of that meeting is to determine if such an arrangement is mutually beneficial to CM Geeks and the restaurant management.

Notes from Chris' Visit to The River Market
WiFi
YES there is free wifi ... password is "rivermarket"
Food:
The venue is lovely, but it doesn’t look to be that convenient for eating during the actual meeting so suggest you plan to eat before or afterwards. Members can choose from River Market or The Duke’s menu, but to help the staff it’s probably best if those wanting Duke’s food place their orders together. Alternatively, park at River Market and stroll across the bridge to Duke’s either before or after the meeting.
RM has a wide selection of soft drinks, beers (Heinekin, Beer Lao, Tiger, Leo, Chang) some in large bottles as well as small. Prices 115 – 125 for large bottles.
Even if you don’t want to have a meal, it’s important that everyone at least has a drink of some kind or, if you can’t bring yourself to even go that far, then leave the staff a decent tip instead.
Transport
If you’re in a car, remember that the road next to the river is one way and you have to approach from the end by the (old) Chedi Hotel. Pedestrians and bikes can cut down Loy Kroh road from the Night Market (Burger King is on the corner).
GREAT PARKING facility!
When you enter the restaurant, turn right before you enter the main dining area and at the other end of the passageway you’ll find the stairs. There’s plenty of seating and we’ll figure out how to arrange it so everyone can see the screen. It could be a little noisy if they are busy, so make sure your hearing aid has fresh batteries…
We’re feeling our way here. Please come early (12:00 at least if you want to eat) and be thoughtful towards their staff. Don’t expect it all to work seamlessly on the first day! If it turns out OK, this could be a good home for us.

p.s. APG came back with a modified offer of Baht 1,000 for three hours inc. ice/water.

Things went quite well at our first meeting at the River Market. We will continue to meet there for the time being. Come early and sample the menus.
